The adventure begins April 14, 2015.
A crazy generous fella named Daniel “Craig” Giffen has taken the time to create what I consider to be one of the most useful sites for Thru-hikers. Craig’s PCT Planner. Its an interactive map where you can set your pace, account for elevation changes, pick resupply locations and allows others to track your progress as you go. Thanks Craig!
There are a few things that could change the start date, mainly the availability of water sources in the desert stretches and snow conditions in the mountains both of which I’ll talk about in other posts. For now I’m assuming a April 14th start date and hiking an average 20 miles per day which should put me crossing the Canadian boarder by mid September. Whooop whoop!
You can find my complete plan here as well as possible sections you can join me for here. Keep in mind that this is an evolving plan and I’m going to tackle it bit by bit. I will also be adding the starting and stopping points of fellow Co-hikers so that everyone can see and track where we are.
