A super nice lady named Jan picked Cody up and took him back to the san deigo airport at 8:00 am and then once the store opened up at 9:00 we bought our food and snacks for the next 4.5 days, hiked a half mile back to camp, packed up and were on the trail at 10:30 to start our first 15 mile day.

About half way through we came to a water stop and meet a nice older lady named Jerry Miller who has been bringing water jugs to that location for years because when she hiked it in the 80’s there wasn’t any water there. It was fun talking to her and I had her write down her address so that I could send her a picture from Canada.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventfull and we made camp around mile marker 56.5 on top of a hill with a great view of the sunset where we tipped our hats to the setting sun.
